Your privacy

Your tasks.
Your space.

Tide is designed to keep your plans on your devices and in your private iCloud storage.

Privacy policy · Last updated 3 October 2026

This policy covers Tide for macOS and iOS, this website, and support correspondence. Tide is developed by Neat Assembly in Melbourne, Australia. For privacy questions, contact support@tideapp.com.

Tide has no advertising, tracking, or third-party analytics SDKs. You do not create a separate Tide account.

1. Your tasks and projects

Tide stores the content you enter, including tasks, projects and associated planning information, on your device. If iCloud sync is enabled, that information is also stored using Apple’s CloudKit service in your private iCloud database to keep your devices in sync.

Tide does not send your task database to servers operated by the developer. The developer cannot browse your private CloudKit database through Apple’s developer tools. If you choose to send screenshots, diagnostic information or an exported database to support, we will receive the information contained in those materials and handle it as described in section 5.

2. Apple and iCloud

iCloud sync uses your Apple Account and Apple’s infrastructure. Apple processes information required to provide its services under its own privacy policy. You control iCloud access through your device’s Apple Account settings. Tide does not receive your Apple Account password.

3. Calendar access

With your permission, Tide accesses calendar events to display them alongside your tasks in the timeline. Event information, such as titles and scheduled times, helps you see existing commitments and decide when to allocate tasks.

Calendar events are read from calendars configured on each device. Tide does not copy these events into its task database or upload them through Tide’s CloudKit sync. Calendar permission and the calendars selected for display are configured separately on each device.

You can manage or revoke Tide’s calendar permission in your device settings. Your calendar service’s own syncing and storage remain subject to that provider’s settings and privacy policy. If you include calendar details in a support screenshot, those details will be shared with support.

4. Analytics, advertising and diagnostics

Tide does not include advertising, cross-app tracking, or third-party analytics or crash-reporting services. Apple may collect diagnostics or provide developers with crash reports and aggregate app information according to your device settings and Apple’s policies.

5. When you contact support

If you email support, we receive your email address and whatever you include, such as your name, message, screenshots or diagnostic details. We use this information to respond, investigate issues and maintain a record of support requests. Please share only what is necessary.

Screenshots and exported database files may contain private task, project or calendar information. Please review them before sending them. Diagnostic logs may include technical error messages and device-specific file paths.

Support correspondence is handled through email service providers. We retain it for as long as reasonably necessary to resolve your request and manage related follow-up, or where retention is legally required. You may ask us to delete correspondence by emailing support.

6. This website

This website does not embed advertising or analytics scripts and does not set its own tracking cookies. The hosting service may process technical information such as IP addresses, requested pages and browser details to deliver the site, protect it and diagnose errors. Any access controls provided by the hosting platform are governed by that platform’s policies.

7. Sharing and service providers

We do not sell or rent your personal information. Information may be processed by Apple, website hosting providers and email providers as described above, including on systems outside Australia. We may disclose support or website information if required by law or reasonably necessary to address security or misuse. We cannot provide task content that we do not hold.

This version of the website is hosted through OpenAI Sites, using Cloudflare infrastructure. See the OpenAI Privacy Policy and Cloudflare Privacy Policy for their published privacy information.

8. Retention and deletion

Task and project records remain on your devices and, where iCloud syncing is available, in your private CloudKit database until deleted. Archiving retains records rather than permanently erasing them. Older completed tasks may be hidden according to your display preferences; hiding them does not delete them.

Before certain database import, local-cache reset or duplicate-record repair operations, Tide creates local recovery copies containing task and project information. These copies are not automatically deleted and may retain information that you subsequently delete from the active database. Database files you export also remain wherever you save them until you remove them. Recovery copies and exported files are not automatically sent to the developer.

Deleting an item from the active database does not necessarily erase it from recovery copies, exported files or device backups. Removing the app from one device does not necessarily remove its iCloud data or existing backups.

You can manage Tide’s iCloud data through Apple’s storage controls where available. Before removing cloud data, consider other synced devices and backups. For help with permanent deletion, contact support. Because we do not hold your private task database, we cannot delete it on your behalf.

9. Your choices

You can manage iCloud and calendar permissions in your device settings and choose what to send to support. Depending on the law that applies to you, you may have rights to access, correct or request deletion of personal information we hold. Contact support to make a request or raise a privacy concern.

10. Children

Tide does not knowingly collect personal information from children through a separate account or analytics system. If a child has sent personal information to support and you would like it removed, please contact us.

11. Changes and contact

We may update this policy as Tide evolves. The date above identifies the latest version. Material changes will be communicated where required.
